A lot of webmasters really have to look at this article and update their sites - it is not 1996 anymore. And even for MyBBs current version there are plenty of hints there.

Websites can be more than a business card, they can sell. If you are doing it right.

I updated to the latest MyBB version (if you encounter any problems, please let me know).

I deleted all inactive members, including spammers (if your account was accidently deleted please let me know, I have a Backup).

I deleted some subforums completely. MybbAddons will be very focussed on addons for MyBB and nothing else. Please use other forums (e.g. mybb.com) for general chit-chat.

We activated some new security plugins to prevent spam. If you think you detected a spammer or if you encounter a spam post please let me know.

There have been no changes for subscribers.

Everything should now be back up and online. Again, if there are any problems please let me know.

A personal note:
I had to do a lot of stuff in the last month. I started to have my own company with a partner (doing web engineering, creating movies and advertisement and so on) which has taken away a lot of my time and I am still at college too.
MybbAddons is not my only website and it is not the most important one.
These are the reasons why I did not work on it for quite some time now.
I hope that this will get better now since the forum has been changed a bit and spam should no longer be a problem. Less time for spammers -> more time for addons.

1.8 will be the final update for the 1.x series and a move towards the version 2.0.

It looks like all themes will need heavy modification. Plugins should only need minor changes to run on 1.8.

This means that I'll not port any themes to 1.6 at the moment but instead wait for the 1.8 series. Plugins will still be ported to 1.6 (I released 15+ plugins in the last days) and of course to 1.8 aswell.

I am looking forward to 1.8 as a stable base to build on.]]>

No additional DB queries are performed.
This plugin has been stress tested on a quadcore server with 100 page calls at the same time and does slow down the loading at a half second under the load of 100 pages at the same time.

You can also set a message displayed instead of the hidden stuff, for example: I set only images invisible for banned users. Now everybody will see the images, only banned users will see a custom message instead, for example: You are banned and can not see the image.
