FaceBook Connect plugin
Hello, the plugin does not work without CURL. Deactivating CURL means deactivating the plugin.

You are correct.

You have to look at the info of the PHP.ini
You can do that for example in your MyBB ACP (Tools&Administration -> Show PHP-Info). CURL is listed there and you can see wether or not CURL support is enabled.

This thread has grown too big to be useful (23 pages).

It would help if subscribers were able to start new threads with specific problems. I tried starting a new thread but don't have permission.

This is a support thread for the specific plugin and the first post is always up to date Smile

Subscribers can open new threads in other forums to keep the subscriber forum for releases only.

The first post, even if maintained up-to-date, only has basic information about the plugin. It doesn't have details like how to enable debugging by uncommenting line 35, which can be very useful.

The first post is not a wiki.

23 pages in this thread suggests that perhaps there should be a subforum for the Facebook Connect plugin, and individual threads for individual issues. Piling more and more messages onto the same 23-page thread just doesn't scale.

Debugging should not be necessary normally and most users do not need it. It can even cause problems. That's why it is mentioned for individual users on request, not generally.

Hi

Thank you very much for the plugin.

I was told today that a user couldn't connect using facebook connect. I had the version 1.2 until today, then I tried upgrading to 1.4. I still have the exactly same problem.

My forum URL is http://forum.antinovaordemmundial.com
If I am already logged in FB, when you click "Register/Login" it goes to the main facebook page, although the URL mybb gives is:
https://www.facebook.com/login.php?api_k...ine_access

Right, if I log off from mybb and do the same (click "Register/Login" link) it shows me a page to accept the forum app, and then returns to the forum, where it shows the message "No username detected!".

I have more than 680 users in this situation, and none of them can login mybb right now.

By the way, I have version 7.15.5 of curl installed .I also tried to change the fbmain.php to show the detail of the exception, but I am still getting the same thing ("No username detected!").

Hummmm, look how the certificate information is:
Quote:forum.antinovaordemmundial.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed.
The certificate is only valid for *.lxlabs.com
The certificate expired on 23/02/2007 22:31. The current time is 04/12/2012 03:02.
(Error code: sec_error_expired_issuer_certificate)

I believe that this will probably the cause for the errors, right?
Is there any tutorial on how to set this up on a centos?

thanks a lot

You will need a proper SSL certificate, not sure if facebook does accept self-signed certificates.

The demo is currently offline because it is not set via https (I don't have an SSL certificate for the demo atm).
Does your server has SSL enabled?
