navbar question

I would like to make a button for my navbar to work like
the on/off icons
( I have the button made )

just don't know where the code is to make it work.

where can i edit to make this buttom change when there
a new topic.


is there anyway to make this work ?

You'd need some sort of query in the database that looks for new (unread) threads.
Could look like that:
You are not allowed to see php code.
Depends on your navbar and the unread threads now,
