Ok thanks just seem weird nothing other than php upgrade on the server has happened and then it stops working ?

The last update for this plugin was long time ago, it did not get updates - no updates for newer PHP versions too. The 1.6 plugins should be compatible with PHP 5.4 at least, that is my current testing platform.
