Wordpress Connect
#51
I'm not the author of the MyFacebook Connect plugin. My plugin does hook into the original MyBB registration functions and should always work if they are used. If the accounts are not completely generated, there is some value missing (like email, username, password...).

Hello,
that is not possible because we'd miss the password. MyBB does store the passwords in a crypted way (md5) and you can not get them from the database again. You can only sync the user if he logs in or does a new registration.

Lennart, before I subscribe I have some questions about this wordpress connect.

Is it backwards compatible? I mean, if a user logs into wordpress, will he/she be auto logged into mybb and vice versa? Or does the user need to log in to mybb first before they are logged into wordpress?

If I have mybb installed at subdomain forums.mydomain.com and wordpress is in the root, will this plugin still work?

Thanks for your help!

Hello erich,
if an existing user with a MyBB account but no existing wordpress account will log in MyBB, he'll be registered and logged into wordpress too.
The plugin hooks into MyBBs login only - users have to login to MyBB, not into wordpress.

The plugin will work with the subdomain if the cookies are not domain specific and both domains are on the same server.

Best regards

Important: This plugin does require the PHP Runkit extension to be installed. You can check here if runkit is installed on your server.

I dont have this installed on my host cpanel and its not window hosting would this still work?

Runkit is available for Linux and Windows. Make sure to install Runkit before purchasing this plugin!
