FaceBook Connect plugin
#91
Hey, found a problem,

If you join with FBConnect, you cannot change your password for MyBB.

I am using Joomla!'s JFusion to bridge MyBB and Joomla! If a member registers with FBConnect they cannot log into Joomla! But if they registered on the forum normally, they can log into the Joomla! So there is a problem somewhere this this plugin Wink

You should be able to change your password at any time. Do you get any error from MyBB if you try to do so?

The problem is that a user just cannot, for whatever reason login to Joomla with the integrating script (JFusion) when a user has registered with Facebook Connect.

I know JFusion works like this
Quote:JFusion does its magic with the use of its JFusion user and authentication plugins. These plugins allow the complete customisation of the Joomla login behaviour without any core hacks to Joomla. When multiple softwares are integrated there needs to be one "master" software that controls all user management actions. When a user logs in to Joomla, JFusion will validate the user based on the user details in the master software. If a user is succesfully authenticated, JFusion will automatically create or update the user in all of the slave softwares.
So aparently it checks the MyBB_Users table to check to make sure they are a valid user, so any changes that may effect this? I know Facebook connect will add them to MyBB_Users but any major changes that might cause them not to be added and get
Quote:Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet

Is Joomla set as Master and MyBB as Slave?

My plugin does create a new user with a new password so any account can be used absolutely regular without the FB connect plugin again (in case facebook stops the service or the plugin needs to be removed).
It does not create the new user in joomla though. So if jFusion brings users from Joomla to MyBB that'd not work. You'd need a facebook connect script for Joomla then.

No, Joomla is the slave, members have to register in MyBB.

I friend of my from Thailand tried to login with facebook, but got this error

An error occurred while granting permission to the application.

Any idea what could be the problem?
Thanks,

Edwin

Does jFusion hook into the original registration procedure and then copies over the account? If so, Facebook connect does not run any MyBB registration hooks of course and jFusion won't work.

No, if that is a facebook message please take a look if there are any settings in your FB application to ignore users with specific ips or from the specific country.

I have no idea.

May I PM you an admin account, and cPanel details and you look into it when you can?

Thanks,
