So you needed to manually update your template to make this work? I thought that was not necessary for this plugin.

it probably depends on the theme you use, etc. And maybe whether or not you use the classic postbit.

However, I'm still having issues. It seems to like the whole thread instead of individual posts, and sometimes doesn't work when I try to like a post, stuff like that. Perhaps again there is an issue with me using the classic template, I just don't know...

I did edit the plugins code a bit to make the like button not as wide and remove the faces, but I don't think that should have made a difference o.O

It never worked properly for me, so I abandoned it. Lennart has not been responsive in several months, unfortunately.

hm, that sucks. It's mega mega close to working for me... just not quite.

It seems to put the correct URL in the Like button code and stuff, but just acts a bit unpredictable that's all.

Facebook Connect I think I've given up on for now but that's ok, it would take a lot of effort to maintain and set up and everything, it might not be worth it really. Depends...

Mine is nothing fancy, but trying to learn a little bit each step of the way. I came to this site and subscribed for the Drupal to MyBB bridge plugin, but it doesn't give all that's needed. I hoped Lennart would update it's functionality, but since I brought that up he has been scarce.

First let me say sorry for beeing away so long, had a lot to do in the last weeks and totally forgot about this plugin.
Let's get the debugging started.

I have just installed this plugin and I found some problems with it.
The share button is not working and I cant seem to disable the like button in user profiles even after I have set display like in profiles to off.

Share button works nicely for me. I'll look into the problem with the disabled profile - in the meantime you can simply edit the member_profile template and delete the facebook entry manually.

I have just subscribed to your site and installed this plugin and the like button shows on the users profile page but it doesn't show up on the post bit which was the main thing I was looking for, can you help?

You do have a heavily modified theme. Please edit your postbit template like I described it in the first post.

Great to hear, I hate working with both postbit templates, it gives me a headache each time. So all problems solved for you?

If you manually edit your postbit template as described in the first post do you stillhave problems with the plugin?


I'm very sorry for the need of manual editing templates - usually the plugin should automatically do that but that does not always work - especially if you do not use the original theme. I hope MyBB will have a better solution in MyBB 2.0 to do that.

No I'm afraid I've still had issues

Often I find that when I click the Like buttons, they register they appear to register the click and then as soon as I move the mouse pointer away they just go back to the way they were before again, and when I go on my Facebook it hasn't appeared. This seems to happen inconsistently.. it's weird.

Also.. the post liking.. still seems to just like the whole thread. It seems to like groups of posts or usually the whole thread which is MEGA weird because when I looked at the raw code for the Like button in Chrome's web developer tools it is retrieving the URL for the post including the pid bit on the end perfectly. Perhaps Facebook does not like that part of the URL?

I'm sure it will all get there eventually! By the way I do ADORE this plugin it's really good, I just hope I can get it all working soon!

That is strange, very strange!
Looks like FB does sometimes not postback properly, I'll test that on my sites to see how that can happen.

Facebook does store the complete URL including the pid (post id) for me, do you have an example URL where FB fails to do so?

I'm getting an issue where when I like 1 post all the posts are being liked on the page! So it's basically liking the URL not the page, any help?

Oh and I'm getting the same sort of issue with the profiles, it seems when I like a profile all profiles are liked once, if someone else likes a profile all are now liked twice, and help?
